For audiophiles, few smartphones come close to LG flagship devices. With either the latest G series or V series phone, you can be sure you're getting the best audio experience of any smartphone thanks to Quad DACs and headphone jacks. And with some tinkering, you can make this experience even better.

With any LG device running Android 10, you can pick a music app that will open when you connect headphones. This includes both wired and wireless audio, with each type getting its own configuration. So open Spotify when you connect to a Bluetooth speaker, but launch Tidal with your wired cans — it's totally your call.

Automatically Launch a Music App

Open Settings and choose "Extensions," then select "Context Awareness." On this page, we will be focusing on two options: "When earphones are plugged in" and "When Bluetooth device is connected." Select the former and choose an app from the list you wish to auto-launch, then select "OK" to confirm.

For Bluetooth devices, you get a second option. When selecting "When Bluetooth device is connected," you can choose two things: the app that opens and the device which activates the music app. Choose "Select Bluetooth device" and select from the list of previously paired Bluetooth audio devices. Afterward, select "App" to choose the music app you wish to launch.

Depending on which feature you enabled, connect any wired headphones or the specified Bluetooth headphones or speaker to your LG smartphone. The app should open right away, making your music fewer touches away from being enjoyed.
