Touchscreen typing has always presented its own unique challenges, so a phone's copy and paste capabilities are more important than you might think. Gboard users should know about a useful feature in this category: extended clipboard history.
Tap the ellipses (...) on the top row of Gboard. Drag the icon labeled "Clipboard" to the top row and select the ellipses again. When you choose this icon, you'll see everything you previously cut or copied. Select an entry to paste it into the text field.
Copied text will remain in the clipboard for an hour unless you pin it, which is done by opening Gboard's clipboard menu, then long-pressing an entry and selecting the pushpin icon. To delete or edit a clipboard entry, select the corresponding icon from this same long-press menu.
